I watched the Churchill series too when it was first re-broadcast and treated myself to the DVD last year. It's held up amazingly well and it was the series that drove me to read more about Sarah which thus lead me to your book, which I'm half way through and very much enjoying.

I've been fascinated by British history--mainly because one of my grandparents had a large collection of Sir Walter Scott's novels. So I grew up with Waverly and The Lay of the Last Minstrel. However, what I find fascinating nowadays is that novelists try (and often succeed) in getting into the heads of historical characters, especially the more controversial or lesser-known ones.
